Who Are Ya: Bury

WITH the new season almost upon us, it's time to cast an eye upon the teams in League Two for 2006-2007. Richard Hubbert turns his attention to Bury.

Key PlayerAndy Bishop. A summer signing from York City. Bishop was the top scorer in the Conference last season, netting 23 goals. He has had loan spells in the league before with Yeovil and Kidderminster, where he found the back of the net. If he can reproduce this form with Bury, Chris Casper could have got himself the buy of the summer.
StrengthsAt times last season, Bury played some excellent football. If they can yield wins for their endeavours then they will have a better season. Going forward, they look a handy side and the signings of Goodfellow and Bishop enhance this claim.
WeaknessesFirstly they need to improve their home form. Nobody won fewer games at home than Bury. Secondly, one has to wonder how manager Chris Casper will fare in his first full season. Being such a young manager, he may start to feel the pressure of life in League Two.
Prediction11th. I think that Bury might just have a decent season, with a flirtation with the play offs a possibility. In the shape of Tipton and Bishop, they have a potentially lethal strike-force.

Next Team: Chester
