Previous Clubs: Doncaster Notts Co Bournemouth (l) Man City Fishy Verdict: On the same day that Ben Futcher left the Mariners to join Peterborough United, Graham Rodger swooped to sign Nick Fenton from Doncaster Rovers. Fenton impressed Rodger whilst playing for Rovers in a pre-season match at Blundell Park in July. His Mariners debut wasn’t exactly one to remember – a 3-0 defeat at Bury – and his performances have been stop-start ever since. Fenton put in some commanding performances at Rochdale and Chester, yet mistakes have continued to be made in the Town defence and goals have been conceded. – In his first 8 Town starts, the Mariners shipped 13 goals.
