Maybe it's just because he ran out of characters?

(I haven't actually counted out the characters there btw!)

Clearly the negativity is getting to the players. We're getting locked ino a viscious circle, which is only going to have one outcome. We need to get fully behind the lads for the next five games, starting at Alfreton. If we do, we could well find ourselves singing our hearts out at Wembley! UTFM

According to the BBCstats;

Everton 1 shot on target, no goals
Palace 1 shot on target, 1 goal

Town players feeling at home watching this game then.

Bringing up getting booed off is interesting...a reference to last night maybe when those "supporters" who wanted to vent their anger / frustration / whatever against Town let their feelings be known?

This. Thankfully we only have 1 more home game against a team in which we should even beat at home. Although if we are not 10-0 up by the 20 minute mark I can see our fans starting to get on the players backs as usual.

Message to tweeting Town players, and in fact, all pro footballers: Start playing well. No booing will occur.
I think Scott Kerr is a good player and always has been, but he'd surely be better off spending his time out practicing corners and free kicks than faffing about with twitter sarcasm.

<<<ABUSE REMOVED>>>

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Tell you what Scottie boy, if you and your boys actually string  3 good performances together (first time for everything) in the play offs then you have my permission to boo the fans as you collect your trophy at Wembley

Are we any closer to getting promoted since Hurst has been here? No

Has he been given time to achieve promotion by the chairman and fans? Yes

Hurst out

Seems Kerr is joining Hurst in blaming the fans ... Don't think they were booed off because of the defeat  so much as you never managed a single shot on target against a part time team again

I'm massively anti-booing players & hate the negativity that I see  / hear / read around the club (we're supposed to be supporters but some spend more time & effort criticising), but Kerr really really should know better than to be tweeting stuff like this.

Agree with the first part but can understand the frustration that would seem to be running through the camp for Hurst and now Kerr to give it back to those who think the idea of supporting their team is to undermine them at a crucial time in the campaign

I like Scott Kerr, like his attitude and leadership qualities.
However, in the last few games he looks tired, slow, and seems to have lost the ability to pass and hit a dead ball.
He has gone down in my estimation with this tweet. Perhaps people shouldn't moan and boo, and I do believe (having watched since the 70's) that we are quite fickle as a fan base overall (though not sure if this is any different to other teams?), but he needs to look at himself and get his head down and drive on until the end of the season.

Give or take a few comments, our support is fantastic, 3000 - 4000 most home games, and lucky to see three or four attempts on goal, hundreds at each away game who spend a fortune to get there.

How lucky are our players to have this backing? Perhaps they would prefer a few hundred fans, no moans and no atmosphere?

The abuse can get much more personal the fewer fans that are there, and much more easily heard by the player involved.....

Im wondering if this sort of thing will make them prove to us or shut us up with a good performance.  If I was being criticised I would play even harder to try and get them on my side sometimes it only takes one person to do this and lead by example and others raise their game to match yours.  Does that makes sense if one of the best players is having an off day the rest do as well but when on fire the others follow.  Maybe im just talking horse manure lol

Bang on. Wonder why you never hear anyone ever say a bad word against someone like Shaun Pearson? because he'd run through a brick wall for the club. If every player in the squad could say the same no-one would ever boo them off...

(PS - I don't condone booing. I do condone people who pay their ticket money being able to voice their frustrations constructively).

At what point does his tweet suggest he's having a go at Town fans...? He suggests that Everton fans might boo THEIR team off.. The fickle nature of the modern football supporter.

No I don't. I could, as many have already on this thread, jumped to a conclusion that it's a thinly veiled swipe at Town fans, but I don't know that. The only person that knows whether it is or not is Scott Kerr.

Stop press...footballer makes comment and suddenly fans automatically assume it is aimed at them.

So what if it was a little dig, sadly there are town fans that from the first minute moan, groan and just generally don't support the side or so it seems.

Yes we've all had a moan and been drunk off with the team for whatever reason but some seem hell bent on doing it all the time.

Too many fans prepared to give it out but as soon as it comes back at them they don't like it, similar to what happened with Betsy the other week.

I look forward to away games much more at present because I know that every single person there wants us to win and actually supports the team...may be some could try this at BP

Yeah, but they hardly ever lose away from home, so there's not much to complain about. Based on home form we would be 16th in the table. Based on away form we would be 2nd.

I bet you were all ecstatic when we got pasted at places like Braintree and Halifax, and didn't confront the management and players in the Car Park at all.

The fact is that the teams bread and butter is at home, and at home they are terrible. Every single person at BP wants them to win too i imagine, and the crowd get frustrated when fail to beat rivals again and again.

Pointless tweet, comparing Town with Everton. Everton consistently play well and are doing better than expected against teams with much bigger budgets!
Town have one of the highest budgets in the Conference, yet continually flatter to deceive with poor performances and look like they might just about make the play offs!
Can't he see the difference?

Sounds like there are plenty waiting to pounce on Kerr if his performance isn't up to scratch on Monday

For just one day, I'm hoping maybe everyone might just get behind the team and see us get the three points without chuntering and criticising if there's a misplaced pass etc

I'm sure Scott Kerr (and a few others) have it in their make up to know what to do if things aren't going their way but fans getting on the backs of our own players isn't going to make them play any better.

That has to come from within the players own psyche, being driven on to do better if they're having a bad time..

Kerr to me seems the sort of person / player who can stand the knocks out on the pitch but being human, he's also taken to giving a bit back via Twitter to those who think they can get away with negativity without consequences for their jibes

The perfect response of course would be for him to put in M-O-M performances everyt time but even then there'd be some on his back...it's the nature of some fans to never be content and to try and belittle some of their own players. I just don't get that...

Scott's attitude on the pitch is spot on, he is a winner, he is a strong voice in the team, he is experienced  he tries to play constructive football. Unfortunately he is needing too much time on the ball sometimes these days as the years catch up with him. Until recently his corners and set pieces were very good, but for some reason he has struggled with this recently too. He is still a very important part of the squad.

Agree 100% with the first sentence.

I am maybe the only one who felt his corners against Halifax weren't as bad as people made out. The main problem IMO was that we had nobody 'blocking' the keeper. Usually LJL stands on him and stops him coming through the crowd to collect the crossed ball on Tuesday we parted and let the keeper come and collect
