Shaun Pearson     Grimsby Town     01.05.2014          3
Sam Hatton     Grimsby Town     04.05.2014          1
Scott Neilson     Grimsby Town     04.05.2014          3

The two categories of match are first team competitive matches and non-first team matches.
Premier League, Football League, Conference National, WSL:
Red cards in first team competitive matches result in immediate suspension from forthcoming first team competitive matches. Red cards in non-first team matches will take effect from the 14th day following dismissal.
Clubs at Step 2 and below: Red cards in first team competitive matches result in suspensions commencing on the 14th day following the match in which the player was sent off. Red cards in non-first team matches will be processed by the County Association to which the Club is affiliated.

We all know this, the question is; are County Cup games FIRST TEAM COMPETITIVE MATCHES or not.

I think they are.........................

...................anyone know different?

P.S   Hatton now with Aldershot, Pearson has already served one match and Nsiala has a one match ban still to serve.

In addition, The FA Disciplinary Department also deal with disciplinary committed by teams in the leagues listed above who also participate in the following knockout cup competitions:

• The FA Cup (E.ON)
• The Football League Cup (Carling)
• The FA Trophy (Carlsberg)
• Isthmian League Cup
• Southern Football League Cup (Errea)
• Northern Premier League Challenge Cup (Unibond)
• The Football League Trophy (Johnstones Paints)
• Northern Premier League Chairman’s Cup (Unibond)
County Senior Cup’s
• Northern Premier League Presidents Cup (Unibond)

This suggests to me that they regard the Lincolnshire senior cup as a competitive fixture.

So Nsiala will be available for the first game of the season and Pearson/Neilson depending on how far we get? do we play 3 games? Anyone know who we have first?

If this is correct and we reach the lincs cup final then we will have Toto and Pearson back for the first game of the season (providing we do get to the final and Pearson and toto play in both of the games). If Neilson plays in both of the games then he will only miss the Bristol Rovers game. I just wish someone at the club would ring the FA up and confirm it.

No, Pearson, Neilson and Toto can not play in the Lincs Cup because they are suspended, so for each game Town play before the start of the season one match will come off their ban!

So, Semi final will mean Pearson will have just one game of his ban left, Neilson 2 and Toto will have completed his ban. If we get to final it will only leave Neilson with a one match ban left.

Simples......

I have been told by one of the office staff at the club that the Lincs Cup does NOT count towards the red card bans BUT if you get sent off in the Lincs Cup the card does carry a ban that carries forward to the season.

maybe Chris could officially ask the club for a statement to clarify this

Is that just red card bans? So toto and Pearson would still be eligible as they are on yellow card bans

Surly it should work both ways. If you can get banned for league matches by getting sent of in the lincs cup surly you should be able to use the lincs cup to get rid of bans from the league. It's an fa run competition after all.

I emailed the club about this yesterday, and got a reply today from Dale Ladson confirming that the Lincolnshire Cup games
do not count for the purposes of suspended games.

I see that further up the food chain the powers that be are changing tack on yellow cards and suspensions

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28368396

Seems that if you're in the CL you'll have yellows waived if you're likely to miss the final but at our level they're sticklers for punishing from one season to the next

That's a strange one, people on here have confirmed with the club that the lincs cup does not count for any suspensions. However it must do if you have players sitting out? Needs clearing up....

Very odd. Why are we saying suspensions don't count for Lincs cup games but boston are saying they do. I know you are defiantly not allowed trialists.

Knowing our luck we've mis-read the situation and COULD play our suspended players but don't, then get a fine and more suspensions for fielding a 'weakened' team

'The Pilgrims will be without the services of suspended trio Stefan Galinski, Kaine Felix and Charley Sanders for the visit of Trinity.

Galinski was sent off against Worcester City on the final day of last season, while Felix will serve a suspension carried over from his St Neots Town days and Sanders will begin a ban incurred during his loan spell at King’s Lynn Town.'

This is what was said on Bostons official website. Very odd.

It's all very bizarre. The suspension rules have been posted on here a couple of times and it seems to imply that the Lincs cup games do count. Yet the club seem certain they don't. I really hope we don't mess this up. Got to be worth another call to the Conference from the club surely?!

So, do we have a definitive answer yet as to whether the game on Saturday does count towards the suspensions or not.

I hope the club have spoken to the Lincs FA about this matter and raised the point of what happened in Boston's game!

Yes - http://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.....16-detail/story.html

Remains to be seen why Boston left their players out - but I guess that's their problem now.

Today's telegraph - Paul Hurst revealed why Grimsby Town didn't appeal against Scott Neilson's red card at Gateshead last season.

Television replays appeared to suggest that Neilson's challenge - on Craig Baxter - was contact - free.

Explaining why no appeal was lodged in the aftermath of the sending off, Hurst said:

"It wasn't the first thing on my mind at that time, and when we looked at it, the league informed us that it was too late".
"so that was a bit of a disappointment".

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

If the club are in any doubt it only requires an Email to the FA,  and the reply to be proof of the correct procedure to be used

Am diss appointed that people are getting stressed about the suspensions. Trust me this is not the big deal it is being made out to be. Doig , the tv star whose name I have temporary forgotten and I dare say bignot call all play center half. I have confidence in all those 3 and so should you all. Neison will be covered by the introduction of Arnold. I personally do not think this us weakening the team that much if I am honest. We are a squad, not just a starting 11 and I feel everyone of our current squad is worthy and good enough. So in short don't panic the suspensions will not hit us as hard as what fans are fearing.

I would imagine with the short time we had to appeal,Paul wouldn't have been sure Scott was going to re-sign .
