Good Draw.

tough game, but good competitive match for the fringe players, and if we win, we are in the semi-final and might as well win it

Good draw - not too embarrasing if we lose and a "bigger" club out therefore better chance to win it if we win.

We may actually get to see what the fringe players are made of versus a better side than previous rounds

If the games go to form it could be last 4 of us/Woking, Dover, Macclesfield and Gateshead.  Stronger line-up than in recent years.

I had a look over the weekend into our run of being drawn at home in the cups. In the last four years there have been 24 draws in the two FA competitions this is not including the home and away semi final draws. We have been drawn at home in 20 of them.

Interesting that Town now play Woking twice in 5 days at BP. As I don't imagine Woking playing a weakened side for either game, it will be interesting to see how PH responds for the FAT game. As the rewards (cash prizes) for winning ramp up at each stage now through to the final (after being a meagre £2,500 at each stage so far), I don't see that PH can do anything other than field his strongest available side for both encounters.

Stourbridge are the team to look out for. Had a cracking season in our league so far, alongside a decent FA Cup run.

They've got Karl Hawley and Justin Richards up top for them.

Wasn't he the lad who helped Carlisle "do" for us in 2005/06 when they got one of the automatic promotion places?

Yep. Him and Bridges up front iirc.

Embarrassment-wise, losing to them would be like losing to Chasetown (but it's the trophy so at least fans of other clubs don't notice)

That's how I see it now. The Trophy probably gives us our best chance of some success this season. And with key players like Pearson and Amond saying how important it is to them as players, the signs seem to be there.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,

I see what the FA are getting at making it affordable for families etc but making it kids kids for a quid does seem an admittance of tinpottery to me.

Be interesting how they ticket the match, whose fans will be behind the goals etc.

I didn't know Hereford were doing so well, top of their league, got nearly 2,500 at home tonight, so if they make the Vase final I would have thought they would take a few.

Whichever game came first would there be a mass (or not quite a mass) walk out by all the fans of the first game when it finished?

Or a mass walk in by the fans of the second game whilst the first hasn't finished.

Whooppee feckin do da. A day out at the freezing cold half empty Wembley getting ripped off for plastic lager and plastic burgers watching a bunch of failed pros run around in a display of Shiite hit n hope footie in the hope of winning a pointless trophy. I can hardly wait........

I hope it's not freezing cold in May...

they should do 'tag team'
for example
Hereford and grimsby one side of Wembley
torquay and Darlo the other

all joking aside how the hell they going to decide who goes where? IF I was going I'd be keen to sit with some vocal fans for the fa vase but then I'd want to be with the black and white army for our game

Feckin hell. Talk about a delayed reaction. Comment four days after the original post.even weirder is that you had made a pretty humorous riposte as the very next post . You are one strange, strange person

Now the title is almost out of reach, i think we should take the trophy serious.

get to the final, get the morale up again in the team, and with it not being until after the play-offs, we can't lose the final and struggle with the play-off's !

I'd be happy to win the trophy as the icing on the promotion cake. But that's it
