I don't think it will come to that. Potential new owners are out there, proper fit for purpose business people who would take the club on and think of others and the wider picture. Now is the time for them to strike.

We’re just a few jerks on a message board though. There are plenty of grown ups around. Or do you think that people from Grimsby aren’t capable of doing what people from Exeter, Newport and Wimbledon can do? Is it some kind of inferiority complex on behalf of our home town that you have?

PS I’ve been saying for months that Fenty (supposedly) stepping back from the club’s decisions would not stop him having a conflict of interest with his council role. I didn’t appreciate he had all those other business interests on top which only added to the risk.

I can’t believe how supposedly knowledgeable people thought that this was OK. Their judgment and Fenty’s has been called into question now. The whole majority group on the council.

You miss my point that I’ve been trying to make. I’m pointing out it isn’t a simple thing to just do, if it were more than those you listed would do it.

Not that it cannot be done. I’m actually quite open to it personally.

That misinterprets the point I was making somewhat, but I think you know that.

I’m all for fan owned clubs but it’s important to remember it isn’t simple and a clear format to do so would need to be established.

Just look how much grief the trust gets. It won’t be a simple fix and all sunny up lands. I’m not against it, just understand it isn’t a magic bullet.


My own personal experience tells me that. However I see this as an opportunity as well as a challenge for Grimsby Town Football Club to step into the 21st century.
