I am sure this isn’t the case.  But imagine a clever plan to make some money from a clever investment plan, put in a £100k and turn it into much more.  There’s a dodgy guy with a million to invest, get a new ground, sell off the old one, make us all a few quid.  Nothing like that happened of course but if it did, and then the whole thing blows up in public, there is bound to be some major bloodletting afterwards.
