I dont think we should expect too much at first playing wise, We dont have the players capable enough in this league, It will take time to get the dead wood out the door so we know how much budget we have to spend up to the cap.

Speaking as a fan who doesn't yet really know them yet, their characters, their business acumen beyond what's been reported.
First and foremost we need a face lift, we are still the same animal as we were when went down from Division 1 in 2003, we are just older, got a few clicky bones, we've not been loved in a while and we are in dire need of attention.
This is what I would go for....obviously a lot is over an extended period.
*The club to be progressive both on and off the field, becoming sustainable, modernised and a forward thinking 21st century club as opposed to "it will do Philip" and this so called comfort zone of just happily sitting there existing without ambition or urgency.
*Manager to be given the ability to bring in a modernised and fully adaptable coaching staff, investments made into sports science side of the game, strength and conditioning, Improvements or renovations made at the training ground in due course to bring it up to an acceptable standard and the beyond that some point in the future.
*An increase to the budget which will allow us to attract a better standard of players. Lets face it we have been treading water for years having a squad that includes a small handful of good players and a lot of wage collectors just happy to be a footballer going through the motions. Likewise make full and fair contract offers to essential players who are coming towards the end of their contracts.
*Be transparent, honest and open to the fans in a professional and positive manor, not just games of ranting verbal tennis after a bottle of merlot.
*Sell the image of the club, build a reputation of being a trustworthy, respectful and ambitious employer and attractive destination to people looking to come.
*Make serious and about moving to the new stadium , it's been going on for over 20 years and we haven't even so much as secured a site, which is wholly embarrassing as even teams like Boston United have had theirs planned, built and had it wrapped up in 3 years.
*Flush out the clubs boardroom deadwood. No more taking the club for granted, no more sitting on shares whilst having no desire to grow or benefit the club.
*Bring the fans in closer, consult them on anything radical that may happen, build a long lasting trusting relationship with us.
*Treat all staff at the club from top to bottom with respect and dignity, whether a player, dinner lady or ticket office worker.

Be nice to go into a match believing we have a chance of winning rather than worrying how many we will lose by !!!
Or even scoring would be good

Survive in the league this season. Begin to repair the relationship between the fans and the club. Build a decent back room team at the request of Hurst. Improve club marketing strategies. Spruce up the ground a little. Identify a transfer strategy and hopefully begin signing more Podges and Omars and less... just less rubbish. Become competitive at the top end of the table.
Thoroughly appreciate that could take 3 years or more. I am happy to be patient so long as we are seeing some signs of improvement year on year. Time to progress as a town, together.

You can make the argument that it was at a lower level against sides a club like ours should be expected to beat, but it’s all relative isn’t it? In the interest of balance, there were also games that were turgid and frustrating to watch, but that was often due to the approach of the opposition as much as that of Paul Hurst. Either way, the argument that performances under Hurst were consistently unentertaining is plain wrong, as evidenced above.

Wins...
After the last shite served up by an alleged proven manager wins are all most of us care about...especially right now.
And I agree 100% Results how ever obtained are all that matters but there will be many, whose voices we have heard before, who will conplain about the standard of the football being dished up and its entertainment value. Many bitched about being in the Conference and the standard and level of football when we were playing 'little pub' teams not fit to be opponents of GTFC but the bottom line was winning matches which, compared to FL seasons, we did. How long before Hurst's style and tactics are the subject of moans and groans I wonder. BTW I am totally opposed to Hurst's re-appointment, not for the reasons I list above, but simply that I don't like 'second time around' choices especially when we have just rid ourselves of the man many accused of holding the club back and being stuck in the 1970s and yet with the choice of Hurst the 'new dawn, new wave' are doing nothing different or more adventurous football wise than the last lot.

Short term has to be whatever it takes to survive relegation whilst laying foundations for the future. A decent backroom team and training facilities are probably more important to players than the stadium they play in.
I would also like the Trust to have seats on the board still but have 50% of the vote.
As it goes on you hope we finally get a new stadium and don't feel resented by the powers that be.
