I see Frank Worthington has died. Very sad loss of a football genius. Remember him seeing him at BP and one of the very few opposition players it was a real pleasure to watch. Brother of Town’s Dave too, of course. RIP

I remember having a kickabout with Frank at his brother Dave's house in Beacon Court in the early 70s. Very skillful and flamboyant player.

R.I.P Frank.

I was very fortunate back in 1981 to attend the annual PFA ceremony in London and all attendees had on their formal dress, black jackets, bow tie etc. I was joined in the toilets by Frank who wore a white suit, black shirt and no tie whatsoever and this demonstrated his character and how he played the game. Think he got a couple of England caps when Joe Mercer had around 8 to ten games in charge in between the Revie & Greenwood management spells.

Wonderful footballer to watch and think the last time I saw him play at BP was for Leeds back in the mid eighties which could have been that infamous day of violence all around the ground.

One of footballs characters.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

I love the fact the referee is applauding the goal as he runs back to the centre circle.
