I appreciate we live in an age where most fans will get their news/updates from the club’s social media accounts rather than the website, but the new OS still had the main headline about the season ticket early bird cut off date that expired 2 days ago.

It’s really disappointing that the club has done so much in various areas to improve fan engagement, but the OS has gone completely the opposite way.

For example, no mention whatsoever about last night’s game involving mainly fringe and younger players at North Ferriby.

Get the point but think it's relatively minor - there have been huge improvements, some are going to take time and not everything is going to be right. To be fair it is an exceptionally busy time for everyone at the club, especially those who look after the site.

Keeping the paying punters up to date should always be a priority, however to increase interest in the new upcoming media it makes sense financially to run the old outlook down

That argument would hold up if the new OS was at least as good as the old one, but it’s not is it?

At least they listen. If you take a look at the OS now it seems your post had an effect and they have edited the season ticket article.

They changed the headline. The article still references the prices of an early bird season ticket and the savings they give.

Given how Jason made his fortune you’d expect the website would be superb. But that isn’t the case at the moment.

Shame on the new owners for not making everything right in 1 year.

Its not like we gained promotion first time of asking.
Spent a lot of money on the pitch so it looks professional.
Improved the community feel.
Engages with the fans.
Increased transfer expenses.
Attract top quality players.
Good sponsorships.
Sustainable growth

Etc...

Surely all Town fans know you come to The Fishy for breaking news and info...and stay for the homo-erotic tension.

The OS could never compete with that.

Have a day off. You should have seen what I posted about Fenty. I was calling him out before it was cool and trendy to do so. I simply state things I am disappointed with and don’t accept that after 14 months the new regime should be given special allowance because they are “new”.

Agreed. They should be given special allowance because we just won promotion at the first time of asking with one of the most exciting seasons in living memory, leading to the sale of nearly 6,000 season tickets as a result.

Things aren’t 100% perfect and it’s reasonable to politely point any issues out, but it needs doing so with the above context.

Golly is right to point out what is wrong, too many became sheep following Fenty and his lame excuses, let's not try and find excuses for the new team, we should not be settling for second best in any department, social media is the future of information and public relations and pointing out that the web site is sloppy in updating stuff and getting info out is very valid.  Surely this is so important now that it has to be right or worked on immediately to rectify mistakes and update information.
Who is in charge of the club website? What is their excuse for it being out of date? Is it a shared role that is only thought of in free time?
Sloppy standards in any sphere of work need pointing out and rectifying before they become habits.

To be fair I don't think it's wrong to call something out if you think it isn't right.

Jason has said many times in interviews that it's about continuous improvement. For what it's worth, I agree — I think the website content has gone a bit backwards. And there's probably a reason for it.

Not a huge concern, but it's worth flagging. The owners have also said many times they want to hear from the fans.

If we have an issue, they want to hear it. Otherwise they're guessing at what we want.

Not everything is an attack on the owners. The website was given a lot of love in its redesign and now it looks like the content is an after-thought.

But like everything else they've worked on, it'll get better.

And I thought I moaned about some trivial stuff. I wouldn’t say ‘who even uses the website anymore?’ but I only use the website to buy things or when linked from Twitter to read about signings or relevant information ie ticketing. I don’t think I’ll be the only one. Websites are starting to be a bit old school now in the age of the app.

I must say that after the season we’ve had, the improvements on and off the field, the 5,600 season tickets, the general feel good factor that we haven’t had in over 20 years and you’re bitching over the website because it isn’t instantly updated. Do you think that maybe you’ve got your priorities a little wrong?

I know what I’d think if I was Jason or Andrew, and it wouldn’t be printable on here. #UTM

I was a veteran of the “calling Fenty out club” by Bournemouth 2009. Anyone who wasn’t in the club by 2006 was just jumping on a bandwagon.

I did listen to it. And you’ve probably missed a couple of moans since then. Keep up.

As you brought it up, any idea how Port Vale managed to anticipate demand and supply 5,000 shirt sales whilst we were apparently surprised to sell 1,000?

As much as I’d like to take credit for how terrible this forum is most of the time I can’t take credit. The Fishy was  still “shite” years ago when I was on Grim Outlook with all the other cheese loving, Deal or No Deal obsessed, classic era Neighbours watching, cool kids.

I did listen to it. And you’ve probably missed a couple of moans since then. Keep up.

As you brought it up, any idea how Port Vale managed to anticipate demand and supply 5,000 shirt sales whilst we were apparently surprised to sell 1,000?

they had bigger average attendances than us , were consistently vying for promotion throughout the season , in a higher league and had a different supplier

Can I politely point out to everyone on here that you can’t all moan endlessly for nearly 2 decades about Fenty and all the things wrong with the club and then try and ban perceived criticism of things the new regime haven’t got right.

Good culture and transparency aren’t just words. They have to be demonstrated in action too. People shouldn’t be put off from airing negative and well as positive feedback.

Actually it should be encouraged. The club won’t grow without being told the things they are getting wrong. The club won’t improve by only being told the things they are doing well.

Like I said earlier I was a founder member of the Fenty is a **** club. A couple of my posts on here resulted in very angry, late night replies from getyourfactsright.

I doubt Fenty has whatsapp. He’s probably still using his Nokia 3310 as it’s still working.

and can i politely point out that if you'd care to email the appropriate people with your 'concerns', then you might get a prompt, civilised, constructive reply, with the likelihood that there will be some positive action as a result?

I asked Golly if he did this last week when he was wittering about the shirts but he didn't reply. Debbie has now explained that the shirt order was placed back in February when, lets face it, promotion was unthinkable. If they ordered 5000 shirts and we sold 1500, how long would it take to shift the other 3500?

The club did have a foresight to order more, we usually order 500. The fact people are moaning about shirts selling out is a positive surely?

The owners have also said many times they want to hear from the fans.

If we have an issue, they want to hear it

But how?

If they had an email address specifically for fans to offer suggestions then it may be possible to suggest ideas or mention problems.

Most members of staff don't reply to questions on Twitter. Only one person is in charge of putting things on social media so a lot of tweets or messages don't get to the person they are intended for.

If they want more interaction with the supporters, give them an outlet available to everyone.

Join the Mariners Trust. Ask them the question and wait for the answer. I've done this and it works. The answer may not be immediate but you do get an answer and as the Trust has 2 board members they are in a position to get answers from the relevant people at the club.

Have a day off. You should have seen what I posted about Fenty. I was calling him out before it was cool and trendy to do so. I simply state things I am disappointed with and don’t accept that after 14 months the new regime should be given special allowance because they are “new”.

Very true. In fact, negative feedback is often the best motivation for reviewing what you do.

There’s a difference between constructive criticism and shouting your mouth off and I’m sure the board are experienced enough to accept that they don’t get everything right.

The people who were most critical and say "I knew it and we should have been calling out the mistakes from day 1" are the same people that refuse to criticise anything now. I understand the shirt supply issue, but the website is awful. I was going to buy some stuff for my baby's birthday, but the shop was full of dead links so I gave up and won't bother again.

I have to get club news from here because I refuse to do the stalker's male masturbation palace social media

The first bit is a load of rubbish and you know it.

I was one of the Fishy five who used to get the PMs and invites to meetings and, by the same token, am fine with questioning what goes on now. Nothing’s perfect, never is, but it’s a million miles from where we were 15 months ago.

I'm not talking about you, you've been pretty consistent in criticising things that deserve it. There's plenty of others that fit what I said though

This really irritates me.

Why should any fan, who pays decent money to watch the Mariners and some of whom have given decades of support have to join an arbitrary organisation to get their voice heard?

If I had a complaint, and I emailed the club then I would expect an answer and if I didn't get one I would amble down to the ground to see someone personally or give them a call.

Luckily for all of us, complaints at the moment are very few and far between and long may it continue, but I would wager the customer service is better than any time in the previous 20 years .

Having started the ‘Debbie Cook’ thread a few weeks back, I can confirm that this is the best way forward. Similarly, I’ve had pretty prompt responses from Sam and Lisa in the past, including under the previous regime.

I’m not dissing the Trust but addressing issues that are current are likely to take longer if you go down the Trust route.

Just seems to me, anyway, like a petty excuse to have a go at the club.

That’s a very black & white attitude - pun intended- just because they’re doing a great job, it doesn’t mean they’ll get everything right.

I know that , I was trying to explain to Mrs F that the reason why most fans are cutting the new owners some slack is because they are liked
