Is there anyway we can get clarification of the way funds were distributed by the trust with regards to donations raised for children’s tickets for play off final ?

That was quite an amount raised and it seems to be unclear who benefitted from it , what the criteria was to be able to benefit from it and who made such decisions ?

I ask this as a good friend of mine who is a single father of two approached the trust via email at the time requesting help and never got so much as a reply let alone assistance. It would be good to find out where the funds were distributed and who was the purse keeper that gave the final decision on who was worthy and who wasn’t ?

If anyone can direct me to this information it would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks in advance

I think Richard makes a very valid point, there was money flying in from everywhere and absolutely no transparency to where it ended up. He only wants an answer to a sensible question

You sure they asked the right person? I know of two people who enquired about funds etc in the frenetic week leading up to the final and got replies within the day…

Seem to remember this being covered in minutes mailed out to members last month. Think that everyone who filled in a form and requested help was sorted out, and money that was left over is being donated in the form of mascot packages (might be wrong) through the Trusts at Wrexham and Sheffield Wednesday given the massive donations received from fans of both clubs.

Sure someone’ll dig out the relevant notes.

Here they are (hope it's OK to share, please let me know if not and I'll delete):

Funds raised by fans for Playoff final tickets – Blown away by fan response to fundraiser to buy playoff final
tickets for fans unable to afford high ticket prices – including lots of donations from supporters of other
football clubs and fan groups which proved that ticket prices for finals is an issue for football in general and not
just GTFC fans. Final count was just shy of 29,000 raised. Over a 100 Trust volunteer hours saw several coaches
and tickets supplied for the occasion.
What to do with money left over – KG suggested that we donate some to Wrexham and Sheff Wednesday who
both made donations to the crowdfunder – we would like this to be used by them to provide mascot packages
for them to issue to junior fans who might not otherwise get the opportunity to do so – this was agreed by all
board members.
Everything that is left after that KG suggests we should hand over to GTSET and the NSPCC for them to work
together to provide tickets over the course of the next couple of seasons for disadvantaged children in the
locality. The board collectively agreed as this will allow more children to attend over a longer period than just
buying and giving out season tickets and will help support the local community be able to attend over a longer
period of time
IK suggests we also use some to buy new equipment for the junior matchday experience activities (ie: new
flags for flagbearers etc) DR to look into costings
Trust to issue statement to inform supporters of what is being done with the money raised to keep them
updated on what its being used for.

Can you intercourse off with your sensible posts. The teams doing well, the clubs being well run, things are happening…the folks need something to moan about…let them create a false narrative, after all, the previous fuckwits did…
