That’s the thing, if any of these were half as good as Foden they wouldn’t be pretending they’re professional footballers in an ‘u23s’ team.

Decent game for a fiver last night, enjoyed it along with others there, bloody cold though wind didn't help ,more money in coffers and useful game time for those that need it, also a chance to watch the world's best team pick of the UK and Europe's young talent matched against us.
Good win Town, well done Hursty

I don’t like this competition but to be honest on reflection it’s a win via a penalty shoot out and some good saves from Max, as much as it’s a good workout for the prem clubs youngsters it keeps our squad involved in competitive football.

Personally I’d rather see a competitive reserves program with a mix of senior and youth including free entry for STH like it used to be.

Maybe it should be free to STH? It also gives those unable to attend league fixtures the chance to see town play.

Am not fussed either way on the competition to be honest. There’s many questions for and a lot more against.

But, what I don’t like is the fact this game replaced a league fixture.

It hasn't been plain sailing for Foden though either even though Pep  Guardiola said he is one of the best young talents he has worked with. Gives you a idea of how tough it is to make it in the premiership coming through the academy's.

One life,one love .
