Why do opposing managers always say "when you come to a place like this" in a disparaging way?

Almost as if it's unthinkable not to roll us over and take the three points.

Cos they’re a London team from the south coming north and still miffed that they didn’t get the London Stadium (West Ham)
Can’t believe they’re supposedly the best team in the league, we could have won that 3-0 gave them two goals and missed the penalty

There will always be defensive errors at this level.  Their goals were from very bad errors though.

Given the penalty save and other chances, we could have won 3-0 or 4-0 on another day.

Hunt did very well against top opponents, on a bobbly pitch and in a gale.  Imagine what he could do Wed on a smooth pitch against a team that will let you play?  Unlikely to be a physical battle either.

Hunt is still very young,  and looks as if he should be doing his homework at school.

He has pedigree for the 5th Round of the FA Cup.  He was selected for high praise when coming on a sub for Sheff Wed against Man City.

The referee was strange. Unpredictable.  Pleased he booked their players in the second half.  At other times their players were blatantly holding our players.  No freekick.

Yes he was quick to give us a pen.  But not another.

Enjoyable. Hunt put in the kind of performance that was everything I hoped he would be for us…now need more of the same from him. Lloyd was good, great energy and did well considering no protection from the ref from the manhandling. Can we sign Lloyds as a permanent in the summer - or will it be location location location again?

Don’t think the pitch is ideal for Max and some of our tip-tapping at the back. We conceded two Salford-fiasco like goals but the Os did one of the the same. They look a very effective if limited side that will punish mistakes and defend competently against the hoofball merchants in this league.

"Supposedly" the best team in the league??
13 points clear.
It was a 2-2 draw, they'd have took that everytime.
Odd analysis saying "if" we didn't concede & "if" we scored a penalty.

Hurst says he wants to play out where possible but you have to know when. Wellens said in his interview that in todays conditions don't turn back, 'put the ball into areas' and make them defend. He thought that it would only 'invite their press' to go backwards. Thought Hurst's comment was confusing and Wellens interpreted the conditions correctly.

Would love to know what our coaches say to Crocombe about where to aim his kicks and why we are in such a dither over throw ins. Goal kicks too often find opposing CB's and we have no urgency or movement at throw ins.

Thought the ref was ok and better than he’d been on previous visits, difficult game to officiate considering all the “head injuries” …. Twisting fekkers.

I think our goal kicks will always be picked off with sides who have tall CBs today, especially when the line up from is McAtee & Lloyd.  On the subject of McAtee why does he insist on hovering around the corner taker when we get one? He’s never going to be in the mixer but surely central outside of the box would be better?

Pretty sure it was the same ref we had v Bradford City and there is no doubt he lets the players “get on with it” and to be fair he’s pretty consistent so I can accept that. Plus the first ref I’ve seen give a foul throw for the player advancing too far down the byline to take a throw in.

Didn’t think we played very well first half and thought we were in for another dour game but even though we didn’t really get going we could have had a couple of goals when Clifton was clean through, but not the best angle, and Holohan totally miscontrolled McAtee’s pass when in a great position.

Second half totally different and the early goal got us on the front foot and in the end we should have won. Defensively we conceded two poor goals and we missed another penalty against a top side meaning the two we have missed have cost us home wins against the sides in the top two positions at the time we played them.

Still don’t think Clifton looks comfortable in the role he’s asked to play with a back 3 ( or five) but great to see Hunt play well and with Khan nearing fitness selection headaches increase for PH. Least I left BP with the glow of the second half and the knowledge that despite some of our weaknesses we should have beaten the top of the league who in reality didn’t create anything without our help.

Well the two errors for their goals today can be a timely wake up warning for Wednesday now!⚠️

'I walked in the dressing room. The window was open and I thought that a sea fret had got in. Then I saw smoke billowing from a pipe in the corner of the room...it was my centre-forward. He looked seven stone wet through. He went on to score thirty-odd goals that season.' Lawrie McMenemy on encountering the legend that was Matt Tees.

Fair enough. Although average has been a pretty low benchmark. Lloyd (who had a great game) was being constantly fouled/strangled by their centre backs. And there were two penalties we should have been given in addition to the one we were.

Depends on view and perspective I suppose.

Agree with the average being a low bar. I chose my words carefully to make that exact point.
