Carabao Cup Final Didn't catch it all but the commentary mentioned that Eddie Howe played at Wembley for Bournemouth against Grimsby in the Auto Windscreens Shields Trophy Final in 1998.
Great day that was.

Don’t need to watch it…
As predicted, Utd ruthless in front of goal as they have been recently. Newcastle all hustle and bustle but not really laid a glove on Utd.
And, as predictable as ever, a fat bloke with NUFC tattooed on his gut…neither funny nor cool. Surely Newcastle fans aren’t proud of it?

I'm not able to watch the game, but it feels weird that, as a neutral, I want Manyoo to win a game. The Geordies get right on my mammaries and I'd rather the petro-state teams lose than their opponents.

Even though he's no longer playing, It's still funny to see Alan Shearer shedding a tear over Newcastle's cup final hoodoo.

It was Howe that headed the ball out for the corner that led to Burnett’s golden goal. Thanks also go to the infamous Jimmy Glass, who momentarily forgot the back pass rule. 14:30 should you want to relieve that historic moment. https://youtu.be/mLr9H3qaxaM

I remember screaming at the ref in outrage as Glass had handled it and it should have been a free kick. intercourse knows what might have transpired if he had instead of it being a corner. It's a funny old game Saint.

Embarrassing showing & ridiculous bias in the build. Greatest fans ever blah blah blah. Last trophy 1955. Least they had a bath at Trafalgar Square.

It’s flipping weird. Like proper weird. They’re a one club city. They carry on like they’re huge, because, ya know, loads of fans make you massive 🙄 The whole wankfest over the Trafalgar Square thing is weird too, literally every club that’s ever played at Wembley has done that at some point…

It was mentioned in the post match punditry bit, that one of the problems Newcastle have in their quest to improve, is their location. One mentioned them maybe having to train in London to attract better players.
Sounds familiar.

Whereas it could be true for the likes of us, that’s just an excuse for Newcastle. All the money in the world but they’re still a bang average club who get a decent crowd, nothing more. That’s the issue. Win something it qualify for Europe consistently and suddenly, with the inflated wages you’ll see they have no issue recruiting…

I think it is worse for them. The players they want to attract can go anywhere in the world. Ours have a choice of Cleethorpes or Hartlepool to make a living, and that is if they are lucky.

Aye, but unlike us, they really can offer more money as an incentive.

Who gives a f--k, they is only one team who played in black & white worth following GTFC. The footballing world on Wednesday will see a proper following supporting the Mariners. UTM
