I voted in and I'm not going to hide it.

We already knew we couldn't play with Green in the team. Thompson was key and is injured. It was ominous before it started. Ultimately, if an attacking manager and a defensive manager cannot get a tune out of this squad, it's likely a squad issue. You don't fix that by firing managers.

Yes, today sucked. We conceded every shot on target and an extra OG to boot, but Accrington shows the squad can do something under DA. I'm far away, so don't know the atmosphere atm, but I'm guessing home environment isn't a strength right now.

A new manager still means the same players.

I voted "in" but I fear the tide is sweeping him away. I like Artell but coming in mid-season and trying to implement a new style is proving disastrous, particularly at home.

If Artell had arrived in May, last year or this, things would have been very different; for this season or next. But as things are I can understand the strident calls for his dismissal though I'd like him to have been given more time. Less then three months is no time to judge someone, particularly a man who did a decent job at Crewe.

The problem is, the new style gave us MK, Accrington, and Notts County. Yes, we've had many bad results, but 3 wins and a few draws on the board will probably give use a good position to survive. Meaning we need 5 reasonable results in about 13 games.

Before that, under Hurst, the old percentages, defensive football just gave us repeated losses with no hope. I think he has to persist, but have a feeling any points we pick up will probably be away from home, if home becomes more toxic. It's going to be an unpopular point, but I'd take all losses at home if we got those points away and saved our behind from relegation.

The squad we have is not good enough and requires major surgery in the summer. If we bring in a long ball specialist, he'll be building a long ball team in the summer also. Things aren't good, but no option looks great right now.

I have some sympathy with your perspective and my natural response would be to give a new manager time to have a fair crack of the whip, however, we have to take a long hard look at our predicament and decide what would give us the best chance of avoiding relegation.

What is undeniable is that things are going horribly wrong and DA seems incapable or unwilling to do something different to grind out results to make a change.

I wasn’t excited about his original appointment but once made was desperate for him to succeed. But the fact is he hasn’t and without some sort of change I’m afraid the writings on the wall.

This is clearly not working. If money is tight - have Pearson and Davies be joint managers for the rest of the season. They wouldn`t do as bad a job as Artell.

I have spent 30 years following Town being ever the optimist, believing in the beauty of football that there are no rules to when and how a team can turn a corner, so even in our dark days I’ve always maintained a belief that a small tweak here or a bit of luck there and things will change for the better.

Today it doesn’t exist. I’ve been drained of any optimism whatsoever and it rests with the manager. I don’t think the squad is below par, I wholeheartedly believe it is capable of much more under the right guidance/instruction.

At full time I wasn’t really an ‘Artell Out’ person and there’s a part of me that reserved to go shouting it from the rooftops, not because I think he’ll turn it around but because when we’re in a rut this bad division won’t help, hard as it is be United.

The more I’ve thought on it though, the more I’m clutching to see what improvement has been made and if anything we’re going the wrong way.

Someone said something interesting on RH after the game, that the players looked like they revolted after going 2-0 down. It’s interesting because after half time - when DA gets chance to shake up - we came back out looking devoid of anything useful.

It’s hard to say the players are doing him in on the pitch, but I’m not seeing a team that is rallying for the manager or understand what he wants.

I think the fact we’re looking at Sutton and Forest Green with such focus tells us enough that even those who once had no fears of relegation (and I confess to myself being in that category) mean we need something to change.

It was quite volatile , the stewards and police were protecting him or whatever it is when they make a makeshift line .
