Grimsby v Woking Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 09/11/2012

GRIMSBY are back to a fully fit and available squad for Saturday's home game with Woking but the team no longer picks itself after several games where Town have not been at their best.

With a big squad to choose from Town have the luxury that other players are available who could start the game - an option that is not as available to the smaller clubs in the division like Woking.

The managers changed a winning line up for the trip to Hyde, so might want to reconsider their choices for the match with the Cards. In the Hyde game defender Shaun Pearson replaced Ian Miller in the back four and Andy Cook got the nod up front over Anthony Elding.

Another option for Town is midfielder Andi Thanoj who played most of the game at Hyde after Derek Niven was pulled off when Town conceded two early goals.

Woking are very unpredictable, perhaps symptomatic of the fact they only have a small squad. The Cards have had some brilliant results, such as winning at Newport, but a lot of poor ones and currently find themselves perched in the packed middle part of the table. Both sides lost their top scorers from last season at the start of this campaign. Grimsby of course lost Liam Hearn for most of this season and Woking lost Guisepe Sole, who will miss the whole campaign.
