Wrexham v GrimsbyTeam News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 24/01/2014

GRIMSBY head to Wrexham with no new injuries after a week without a game, which has also allowed those with knocks to get some much needed rest after a few weeks of games in league and cups. Chris Doig (neck) and Clayton McDonald (arm) are both close to returning.

The starting line-up though will probably be the same as against Gateshead, with Doig and McDonald not getting further than the bench.

Grimsby have got a poor record at Wrexham, having just won once in eight attempts this century. The Dragons have had a surprisingly poor start to the season after coming so close to promotion last year, and winning the FA Trophy. However they have picked up a bit in recent weeks and are only 6 points behind the Mariners in the final play-off spot, although they have played 3 games more.

Striker Brett Ormerod is suspended for Wrexham, defenders Leon Clowes (calf) and Stephen Wright (foot) are both injured, and forward Rob Ogleby (hamstring) is doubtful.
