Macclesfield v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 26/12/2014

PAUL Hurst has a full squad to pick from for the first game of the festive period, when Town travel across the Pennines to Macclesfield.

Left back Aswad Thomas has recovered from his calf injury and will be pressing for a place in the starting line-up. It's by no means certain that Thomas will start the game though as Grimsby played well against Forest Green and Hurst may prefer to stick with a winning side for another promotion battle.

Macclesfield are one of three sides who lie above Grimsby in the table, and Town have yet to play them this season. The Mariners should have won at Moss Rose last season but conceded a late penalty which meant the match finished 1-1.
