Russell Recruits Rose

Date: 22/05/2017 (Last updated: 23/05/2017)

GRIMSBY Town have confirmed the signing of 22-year-old midfielder Mitchell Rose.

The box-to-box midfielder has signed a two-year deal with The Mariners, keeping him at the club until at least June 2019.

Rose, the younger brother of Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny, most recently helped Newport County beat the drop from League Two. Before that, he enjoyed a spell at Midlands outfit Mansfield Town.

Yet another addition to the Grimsby Town engine room, it seems as though the addition of Rose will make way for at least one central midfielder to depart Blundell Park before the end of the transfer window. Luke Summerfield was part of the Macclesfield side that lost to York City in the final of the FA Trophy this weekend, and a taste of regular football this year may well have whet his appetite for a move away.

Mitchell Rose shares an agent with at least five other Town players. He is represented by Fifteen Eleven Management, who have James McKeown, Zak Mills, Chris Clements, Akwasi Asante and Sam Jones on their books.

There is evidently a strong relationship between the club and the agency, with great credit to Fifteen Eleven Management for having a very strong group of clients.
