Just been comparing the squad now to that which was the first to attempt to get us back in the league (under Neil Woods) and I can say that there isn't one player in the SQUAD back in 2010 which would get in the first 11 this season. Think you'll agree when you see the squad below.
Surely proof that vast improvement has been made to the entire current squad put together by Hurst.

GK Scotland Kenny Arthur
DF England Peter Bore
DF England Lee Ridley
MF England Mark Hudson
DF England Darran Kempson
DF England Scott Garner
MF England Lewis Gobern
MF England Bryan Hughes
MF Republic of Ireland Micky Cummins
FW England Charles Ademeno
FW Scotland Lee Peacock
FW England Michael Coulson
FW Wales Robert Duffy
GK Republic of Ireland Nick Colgan
MF England Michael Leary
DF England Dwayne Samuels
DF Scotland Steven Watt
FW England Alan Connell
FW Wales Chris Jones
FW England Danny Carlton
MF Democratic Republic of the Congo Serge Makofo
DF England Bradley Wood
MF England Josh Fuller
MF England Nick Hegarty
MF Albania Andi Thanoj
MF England Adrian Forbes
MF England Dean Sinclair
FW England Tom Corner
FW England Nathan Dixon
DF England Rob Atkinson
MF England Drew Rhoades
DF England Mark Gray
MF England Andrew Wright
MF England Robert Eagle
GK England Steve Croudson (legend - Maybe the exception to the rule if he was fit to play)
FW England Sam Mulready
MF England Dayle Southwell
DF England Charlie I'Anson
GK England Richard O'Donnell
DF Scotland Robbie Stockdale
GK England Rob Peet

I'd happily have Coulson in the squad. Also give Southwell a chance after almost 30 goals last season.

Genuinely cannot even remember us having him, played 12 games in 28 days for us according to Wikipedia, now seeing he has signed for Wigan.

It's like a journey man's XI. Also how big is that squad, I shudder to think how big the wage bill was and the majority of that squad was dross. If we went up this season there's no way we'd have a squad that big again, even in league 2.

Alan Connell surely was signed by PH and Rob Scott. However, if we are including everyone who's played for us since we went down to the Conference but is not in the present squad then Andy Cook and Liam Hearn should be added to that list. Apart from Hearn and maybe Connell I agree that every member of the current squad is an improvement. Things are indeed looking up and I also make the point that PH is becoming a very good manager. Let's remember that when he first came to us he was a rookie and I guess some would say he still is because he has yet to manage in the league proper. However, every season he seems to improve. This surely must be our year. Up the Mariners.

Fat Cobra. Thanks for that I wasn't aware he was signed by Woods. My apologies.
