Should never have got to this stage. Going into the season with 3 experienced centre mids was chancy but with one of those unfit for the start of the season, it should have been sorted sooner. Once again, Hurst reacts instead of pre-empting. I know he said that he won't just bring anybody in unless they can improve on what we have, but if what we have is injured/suspended, then anyone is an improvement. He takes stoicism to new levels.

If come tomorrow Clay is out, I would think Danny East should be considered to play in midfield. I'm sure I've read he's played there before and think he would suit it. Yes, there was the whole "we tried right back Bradley Wood there and didn't work" but East is a different player and IMO could easily fit in there and bring Tait in at RB who is extremely unlucky not to be playing every week because of East's form.

On going problem since Hurst and Scott came , Scott gone , still a problem  . So reliant on an ageing Disley in the twilight of his career
As someone has said this should have been sorted out at the beginning of the season . Now if behind closed doors Hurst has had East playing in midfield and it works does that make our manager a genius ?

I'm glad Disley is ageing, if he wasn't he'd be dead. Each year people say he is too old and each year he is one of our best players. I know one year this prophesy will be correct but I've not seen or heard anything so far to suggest his time is up.

It's just a shame the youngsters aren't considered viable options at this time.
