I think Toto will play, mostly for that reason. Gowling has been injured this week too.

Also, if Parkin plays, then Pearson must play; he's our only centre back who is likely to be able to compete with him in the air.

Personally, I would prefer to give Harry Clifton or Josh Venney a chance. Otherwise, I question the point of a very expensive (no football league grant money now) youth system.

Agree with the other posters that Danny East could do a fine job and Tait could move over to right back.

However, if PH decides to look outside of the club again, I hope he looks to bring in a different type of central midfielder. We could use some athelticism in the middle, and strength. I realise these type of players don't grow on trees, but that would be my wish list.

Spot on Vic.  A loan player is likely to be a pretty raw youngster or a slow, un-match fit old player - the two youngsters know the club and players, have trained and played with them so stick them in if Dis or Clay can't make it.  If Clay is injured then Dis would be a greater mentor for Clifton/Venney.  If Hurst won't use the youngsters then why sign them up!

On the one hand, BP Vicar is advocating playing one of the youngsters, but in the next paragraph he's saying we need more strength and athleticism in the middle - the two things those young lads are entirely lacking! A bit inconsistent there though I'm in agreement that we could do with some strength and athleticism, hence the idea of playing East in the middle.

If it was a game against one of the weaker teams in the division, I wouldn't have too many problems with one of the young lads playing but FGR will undoubtedly have some tough, seasoned professionals in midfield and I think it might be a step too far for them. Neither is physically imposing and it would be boys against men in a game which I expect to be a bit of a battle.

I get what you are saying. What I meant is I would rather we had enough confidence in the ten other lads to guide the youngsters through the game. But if we did have to look outside the club (again), then I would rather we signed someone with a physical presence. We can't make Harry or Josh into 6'4 beasts with three lungs. IMO Dizza and Brown are all bit similar, Clay who I rate very highly is a little different.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'
