               McKeown

         Toto    Pearson   Gowling

                      Disley

Marshall        Clay        East

                    Arnold

           Pittman       Amond

Diz sit on front of the defense.
Aronld given the run of the pitch.
Wouldn't play Bogle, there's a player in there somewhere but not at the moment.
Would play more narrow can't see the fixation in playing wingers.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

A striker that works hard but does not score will not get you many points,

Strikers that score often however will get you plenty of points,

Which type of striker would you like ?

Plus I think Amond works his socks off and scores goals

Bogle just needs a bit of tuition but who do we have that can give him that. ?

Tomlinson  is busy like the person who's not here now , and was the first name on the team sheet . It's obvious that our manager likes this type of player.  If we sign Tomlinson on a permanent  basis then we know what we're in for . Personally I feel Pittman for all he gives the team hasn't found a suitable partner .  Amond  and Bogle  for all their naivety they work together , and get goals . the more they are together the better they will become . Who knows what formation will be put out tonight , I give up guessing . What I do know is that it's annoying the paying fans , but who's bothered about us .

Stick to fifa, You genuinly expect a conferance team to pull off that formation?? Also, i dislike East on the left, he hates his left foot and often gets him in trouble.

I genuinely have no idea what team he will pick.  I know what I will pick and it certainly ain't the one PH is picking.

All being well, I'd go with

McKeown
East Gowling Pearson Robertson
Marshall Disley Clay Arnold
Amond Bogle

JP very unlucky to miss out, I think Amond is a clever player who can make things happen as well as score goals. Bogle is a machine, he has major weaknesses in his game, I fear learning lessons is one of them but he has such attributes that he must start. He's had his bollocking, move on and let him do what he is paid to do.

In one of Hurst's recent post match press conferences, could have been after FGR, he said something along the lines of, "if the strikers keep scoring, I can't leave them out". With that in mind, Pittman must be a starter tonight.

I actually prefer Bogle and Amond myself but if Hurst is true to his word, Pittman will be starting.

In an interview with Pittman in the Telegraph, he sounds very upbeat and expects to be playing tonight.

Who would you have a his partner ?  Amond ,  similar player , Bogle  not on same wave length,  Tomlinson  doesn't compliant his game . We need goal scorers on the pitch not sat on the bench . Play all 4 , we haven't tried that formation yet .

Good question.

To answer the question, who would I have, I would probably go for Bogle but then again I am not the Manager. Even when I played Subbuteo all those years ago, I never made a Substitution.......all the players looked the same anyway.

Not sure what Hurst will do either, he has already made a few decisions this season that have surprised us. Taking my original post and turning it on its head, how can he play Tomlinson if his policy is score and you stay in the team.........although it's more likely to be score and you're definitely in next game, not scoring may mean you are out.
