Think based on what Stockwood and Artell have said in recent interview, this summer I believe majority will come at the chairpersons behest and will be chosen heavily based on data. Interested to see how it works.

I don't think that's true at all, there's zero chance Jason or anyone else gets involved in the selecting players part of the recruitment process  - other than perhaps providing the finances or talking to players, agents on the clubs behalf as might happen from time to time to get a deal done.

Everything they've said since they've been here is they leave the football to the experts. They've set the course of the type of football club we want to be going forward and given the resources to the manager to do that job, that's what he and others will be judged against.

In Andrew Pettit's programme notes for the Newport County game there was a big clue about where we are looking.

" We will also be seeking to take advantage of the recent relaxation in the rules about signing overseas players which allows clubs at our level to sign two foreign players without the historic requirements of them being at 'elite'/international level.
Town has secured its licence from the Home Office to facilitate this option and some exciting targets are already on the radar."

Yeah that’s the one that springs to mind. Obviously you only pay attention to what he says about your club, but during the season I realised he would just do it endlessly about every club, every player, every manager.

Initially I thought “wow, this guy knows his onions!” and then having watched all these players he rated so highly for us, by Christmas is was more “wow, this guy talks shít!”  

Obviously knows a lot more than me, mind.
