Be positive FFS, sick of all the negativity at the moment, We are in a very good position.

If your satisfied with 8th in the Non League then good for you to me its just not good enough.
I'm not being negative because we are a long way off being "still on target for promotion".

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Tell that to Paul Hurst. Never rested, subbed or dropped regardless of form.

We don't score enough goals yet you want our leading scorer left out????

Our position is irrelevant really, it's the points difference that really matters.

Would you prefer it if we were 6th but 5 points off the play-offs?

What I would prefer is to be top of the league or at the very least sitting easy in the play off positions.
It amazes me how little some on here will settle for. There is no way we are as BIGChris says "still on target for promotion"
This willingness to accept failure season after season has been the problem with all involved with the club (from top to bottom) and a lot of fans over the last few years. Of course our position is relevant, its just not good enough.

Maybe we should take a leaf out of Alfretons books, anyway I think we might just scrape into the playoffs but will not progress after that imho.  The players need reminding every game to start well, yet fail, this is down to the manager for allowing this to happen, and if any of the players have any respect for PH they would be doing what he is asking.  Has PH done a hairdryer moment yet? he just comes across as a mr easy laid back softy sometimes a manager needs to motivate his players and that is the biggest missing thing for me oh and the constant rotating of the players for no reason.

I really want us to get up I really do, but part of me wants us to fail so PH can get replaced.

If you'd have offered me the league table now at the start of the season I would have taken it. Us looking likely to get a play-off spot (we are only 8th because of games in hand). Plus Luton top is good news if we don't up this year because it makes the task a little easier next year (if we can afford an equally competitive squad). For that reason if we don't go up I hope Luton and Forest Green do because they are the biggest spenders. My only complaint is we took the  FAT seriously,

Totally disagree. I think the unrealistic expectations of us taking the league by storm every season leads to a negative aura and demand for whoever is manager to be sacked after every point dropped.

You continually snipe at me (and others) who have a more positive outlook than you and the other doom merchants.

Everyone would prefer us to be in Lutons position but we have a decent chance of making the play offs. If everyone unites together we have more chance of doing so.

I just dont believe the constant moaning does anyone any good. The time for review is when the season is over. Then, and ONLY then, will we have facts. The rest is just conjecture.
Despite what some post on here it isnt a fact that we will not make the play offs and equally it isnt a fact that we will. It is sport. Football is not predictable. If it were then it would have little interest or following

As supporters I remain totally convinced that until the end of the season the only way to go is to back the club, manager and team because that cannot do any harm to our chances of securing promotion. Conversely constantly moaning could have an adverse effect

This is a football forum where we as fans air our views, how can this have an impact on the how the players play, i would imagine that the players and manager don't take any notice of the fishy, or even realise it exists.

Grimsby and proud!
